Nick Maddox 1911 T205
Nick Maddox was called up to the big leagues and made his first appearance with the Pirates on September 13, 1907. That day he threw a two-hit, 14 strikeout shut out of the St. Louis Cardinals. Three days later he beat the Cardinals again, 4-2. One week after making his major league debut, Maddox threw the first no-hitter for a Pirates pitcher, a 2-1 gem against the Brooklyn Superbas.
